In Larmor-Baden, in Morbihan, a couple of hoteliers invited around forty nurses and orderlies to stay in their establishment free of charge.
At the hotel du Parc Fetan, in Larmor-Baden (Morbihan), 24 caregivers, accompanied by a person of their choice, were graciously accommodated for two nights in order to reward them for their struggle during the pandemic of Covid-19. Manuella and Benoît Radenne, the managers of the hotel, decided to make this gesture to thank them. “We said to ourselves: we have a hotel, we have a restaurant, come on, we open it for our caregivers, says Manuella Radenne. From there, we created a Facebook page right away.“ They called this page “A break for our caregivers”.
The managers organized a competition, “without anything in return”, to which 8,000 people responded. Some even thought it was a joke. “When the boss emailed me back to say ‘Congratulations, you’ve been drawn,’ I said, well, it’s true, and here we are today with a fabulous setting.”, rejoices a caregiver. “It’s warmth, recognition, sharing … It’s really heartwarming “, adds another. A whole chain of solidarity will then be set up around this competition: oysters, boat trips, bike rentals … These caregivers were also able to discover the Gulf of Morbihan and visit Île-aux-Moines.
