Caregivers, exhausted by the Covid-19 crisis and faced with a lack of staff, demonstrated on Tuesday, June 7. Rallies took place across France.

Throughout France, nursing staff marched on Tuesday, June 7, to demand wage increases and massive recruitment. “The hospital, we all think it’s a chance, that it’s a due and that we will always have it, but no, we may not have it anymore”warns Stéphanie Simonnet, health manager at the Bordeaux University Hospital (Gironde).

In Grenoble (Isère), 300 people gathered in front of the CHU. “We simply ask to work in working conditions that allow us to treat”, explains Sara Fernandez, nurse. The situation has consequences for the work of the personnel. “The care is not optimal, and the quality of care is no longer there. People have to hear it,” warns Dr. Pierre-Amael Noailly Chamy, pediatrician. At least 120 emergency services have been forced to limit their activity or are preparing to do so. The situation is likely to worsen with the summer.
