Cardiac arrest during a game | Damar Hamlin will cheer on the Bills from his residence

(Orchard Park) Safety Damar Hamlin, who is still recovering from cardiac arrest during a game in Cincinnati two weeks ago, said he will be cheering on his Buffalo Bills teammates from his residence during of their playoff game against the Miami Dolphins.

“My heart is with my guys as they compete today,” Hamlin wrote on Twitter, less than an hour before kickoff Sunday afternoon.

“Support from home while I focus on my recovery. There’s nothing I want more than to be there with them,” Hamlin posted, along with a video of waving to fans during the Bills’ final game against Miami on Dec. 17.

A person briefed on Hamlin’s schedule told The Associated Press on Sunday that Hamlin planned to attend the game in person. This source then indicated that the “plans may have changed”.

That person had spoken to The Associated Press on condition of confidentiality because Hamlin has kept his schedule and recovery private since being released from a Buffalo hospital on Wednesday.

Hamlin visited teammates at Bills Stadium on Saturday, but has not been seen in public since being taken from the field in Cincinnati in an ambulance on January 2. He spent more than a week in hospital, most of the time in critical condition.

Bills executives had not released details of Hamlin’s plans for the game.
