car accident leaves seven dead

The front of a Peugeot car completely crushed, its two occupants seriously injured, and next to it, a Citroën pulverized. Inside, a couple in their eighties died instantly. Further on, the car responsible for the accident was removed. It was there that five young people, aged 17 to 19, were trapped in the burning vehicle. None survived. It is their excessive speed which would be responsible for the tragedy which occurred in Eure-et-Loir, Tuesday June 18, according to the Chartres prosecutor.

Emotions ran high this Wednesday, June 19 morning, in the town of one of the young passengers killed. The mayor warned the family. The section of road where the accident took place is known for its dangerousness. Used by 10,000 motorists per day, it is winding and steep, accidents are frequent according to residents. An autopsy must take place to find out if the driver was drunk or under the influence of drugs.
