The CAQ member for Soulanges Marilyne Picard announced this morning the loss of her husband’s 16-year-old son in a road accident on December 18, in Montreal.

“I have the immense regret to announce to you that one of our children, Noah, 16 years old, succumbed yesterday to his numerous injuries following a serious and tragic car accident, which happened on the night of December 18 last” a wrote Marilyne Picard on her Facebook account on Wednesday morning.
Young Noah-Leewis Mercier is said to have celebrated his 17th birthday today.
The member for the Coalition Avenir Québec described this news as “unexpected, unimaginable”.
She stressed that her family, which has already suffered its share of hardships with the illness of one of their children, are tightly knit, and would take the holidays to comfort each other.
“She saw these children grow up. It’s like the loss of one’s own son, ”Jane Turbide, Ms. Picard’s press secretary, told the Journal.
