(Columbus) Evgeny Kuznetsov ended the debate 26 seconds into overtime on Tuesday, allowing the Washington Capitals to win 4-3 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Kuznetsov also took part in the second net in Trevor van Riemsdyk’s game.
Garnet Hathaway scored the other goal for the Capitals, while Charlie Lindgren made 31 saves.
Andrew Peeke, Eric Robinson and Johnny Gaudreau hit the mark for the Blue Jackets, who have lost their last three games.
In last place in the NHL, Columbus has won only twice in nine games.
Joonas Korpisalo blocked 30 shots.
The Blue Jackets’ next game is in Toronto on February 10.
