(Saint-Augustin-De-Desmaures) A ​​septuagenarian is in critical condition after a road accident that occurred late Tuesday afternoon in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in the Capitale-Nationale region.


The accident involving a sedan car and a van occurred around 4:36 p.m. at the intersection of Route de Fossambault and Chemin Notre-Dame, the Quebec City Police Department said in a press release. (SPVQ).

The driver of the car, aged 76, was seriously injured and was transported to a hospital. One of the van’s passengers, aged 31, was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The SPVQ reported no other injuries.

A perimeter was erected at the scene of the accident to allow investigators and technicians from the forensic identification unit to establish the causes and circumstances leading to the accident.
