(Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier) A vehicle swerved on Route 367 left one person dead on Thursday in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, in the Quebec region.
It was around noon that police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called to go to kilometer 23 for an exit from the road.
The car apparently caught fire following the swerve.
“The investigation of the scene tends to show that the person who was driving was alone at the wheel of his vehicle, then she died inside” it, indicated the spokesperson for the SQ, Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay .
The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time. An investigation is underway with the Coroner’s Office to identify him.
A patrol officer trained in collision investigation also went to the site to establish the causes and circumstances of the accident.
