Canucks 4 – Oilers 3 | Boeser scores twice and Canucks take series lead

(Edmonton) Brock Boeser scored two goals and an assist to help the Vancouver Canucks defeat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Sunday night.


The Canucks now lead the series 2-1. The fourth duel is scheduled for Tuesday in Edmonton.

Elias Lindholm also scored twice in the victory. Quinn Hughes and JT Miller each had two assists.

The Oilers took advantage of power plays on goals from Mattias Ekholm and Leon Draisaitl. Evan Bouchard scored near the end of the game.

Stuart Skinner blocked 11 of 15 shots and gave way to Calvin Pickard to start the third period. In his NHL playoff debut, Pickard made three saves.

Canucks rookie goalie Arturs Silovs stopped 42 pucks.

The first two goals of the match were scored on power plays. Draisaitl first hit the target at 5:37, but Lindholm tied the score at 8:45 in the first period.

Boeser then scored two goals in a row before the end of the period to make the score 3-1.

The Oilers were outshot 45-18 in the game, but Silovs held on and made several important saves.
