Cannes is preparing for the 76th edition of the Festival

Less than five days before the launch of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, it’s time for the final preparations in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes). Screening room, costumes, hotels or security devices, everything must be ready next Tuesday. 35,000 cinema professionals are expected on the Croisette. Not a moment to lose for workers setting up an outdoor projection room. “There are bleachers, comfortable armchairs, cinema sound, a large screen”explains Christophe Arnaud, Technical and Operations Director of the Palais des Festivals.

A whole city in turmoil

The Festival is also the showcase of elegance. In a school, the latest creations are about to be finalized. A few meters away, it is also time for the final adjustments for the luxury hotels. 52 suites are to be fitted out to accommodate haute couture houses. In the kitchen, the teams test new recipes. Finally, several bodyguards are in training. They will be a total of a hundred around the Palace.
