Created in 2010 by critic Franck Finance-Madureira, the Queer Palm rewards each year a film and short films dealing with LGBT themes, “ queer » or feminists, among all the Cannes selections.

Catherine Corsini was the winner of the Queer Palm in 2021 for her last feature film in competition at Cannes, The divide, which depicts a trivialized homosexuality embodied by a couple of women played by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Marina Foïs. The actress Aïssatou Diallo Sagna had been awarded the César 2022 for the second female role for this same film.

The 2022 Queer Palm jury also includes French actor Djanis Bouzyani, French critic Marilou Duponchel, Swiss director Stéphane Riethauser, as well as Briton Paul Struthers, programmer of the Tribeca and Sidney festivals.
