A candidate was forced to withdraw in Calvados, for having posed with a cap stamped with the Nazi swastika. Four days before the second round, the profile of certain candidates invested by the National Rally is embarrassing, like that of Paule Veyre de Soras, RN candidate in the 1st constituency of Mayenne. She denies being racist, indicating that she has a “Jewish ophthalmologist” and one “Muslim dentist”.
In Yonne, Daniel Grenon’s remarks are controversial. Asked about the ban on certain positions for dual nationals, a measure proposed by the RN, he responded that North Africans “have no place in high places”. In the Jura, Thierry Mosca (RN) will also be competing on Sunday July 7. However, he is under guardianship, which is a reason for his ineligibility.
