Candidates and winners of “Koh-Lanta”: how much do they earn?

Since its launch in 2001, Koh-Lanta has always been a huge audience hit on TF1. The show hosted by Denis Brogniart will pit twenty adventurers (10 women and 10 men) against each other again this year, starting on February 13, 2024. They will try to go to the famous poles to win the promised €100,000 to the winner. But what do they all really gain from participating in the game?

Candidates paid the minimum wage

In December 2020, Society magazine revealed the salaries of the candidates and winners. We learned in the columns of the monthly that they received the minimum wage and 4,000 euros in image rights in exchange for their participation. A fee doubled or tripled when former participants returned to All Star.

This is how Clémence Castel revealed to us in the columns of Public in 2019, that she had received between 7,000 and 10,000 euros to appear in the edition “Clash of Heroes“. For his part, Dylan Thiry had explained to Cyril Hanouna, during his appearance in TPMP, that he had pocketed 27,000 euros for his participation in the All-Stars version. He had also revealed that each of the adventurers received between 7,000 and 10,000 euros to participate in the show, whether they stay there long or not.

“Everyone forgets it”

On the production side, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, who was president of Adventure Line Productions between 2016 and 2023, revealed in 2022 to Estelle Denis on RMC Story. “Basically, it’s a distribution. I think it must be around a hundred euros per day. […] The minimum remains the minimum wage, then it depends on the number of days of participation“. Our colleagues from TV magazine estimated that the salary was 25 euros gross per day of participation, and 700 euros confidentiality bonus.

And ALJ adds that ultimately the check for 100,000 euros (taxable, 1/5 of which goes to the public treasury), “everyone forgets it”. And for good reason : “Because the motivation to participate in Koh-Lanta is never money“, she assured.
