It was a good season that the fourth… We especially remember that the masters of the game of “Secret Story” that year were Thomas Vitiello and Benoît Dubois. An improbable and hilarious duo at the same time which made the ratings of TF1 jump. Together, they improvised a couple of gossips, Josiane and Brigitte, who always had a say in the course of events. Guaranteed success: the two languages of vip’ are a hit! Their characters were so strong that they continued to bring them to life beyond the house of secrets, on stage or even on the NRJ 2 channel. Interviewed by Sam Zirah on his Youtube channel this Sunday, October 9, Thomas confides that the beautiful friendship he had with Benoit had to end under the pressure of… Matthieu Delormeau. According to him, the facilitator would have said to Benoit: “Separate yourself from her, do not stay with this ‘travelo’, he said ‘what are you doing with her, why are you with her, you can’t see that she’s pulling you down, look, you’re magnificent…” But water has flowed under the bridge since then, we hope. “I was not born a hermaphrodite. I was born a boy”
“I never said to myself that I would be contacted again for this program”, explains Thomas. “When they started calling me, it was particularly in relation to my secret,” he said. At the time, the strong program of TF1 obviously wanted equally powerful secrets. And the 17-year-old young man confided that he was born a hermaphrodite… Bingo! He was “engaged” illico! Today, the former candidate definitely wants to free himself from a heavy burden… and launches himself in front of the videographer specializing in reality TV: “Already, we don’t say hermaphrodite. Hermaphrodite is for animals”, he insists on clarifying beforehand. “For human beings, we say intersex. It was not my secret. I will tell you the truth today. I am not born hermaphrodite. I was born a boy”, finally loose Thomas Vitiello, in front of a dumbfounded interviewer. “Everything was false. I have never been intersex”, he finally confirms, recalling that his secret should never have mention the term “hermaphrodite”.
The reason for such a lie? “In fact, to tell you the truth, with my best friend, we said to each other, I have always been a bit androgynous. I had this kind of emo look. We thought, ‘What’s going to make them tilt on my profile?’ Because inevitably, there will be a million people. We said to ourselves that it would never go all the way,” he explains. Called back by the production, he decides to try his luck: “I said to myself: ‘Okay, let’s go! I said to myself, it will pass and in the end, it passed!”. Thomas Vitiello therefore found himself stuck in this huge lie, which still pursues him. And to clarify: “I was invited to a lot of shows to talk about that, about this difference. I always said to myself: I’m not going to go there, I don’t want people to talk to me too much about it, because I don’t know what it’s really like to be like that”, he concludes honestly . A real liberation today for this ex-reality TV candidate who also sounds like a warning for the new generation.
