Canal+ wins the TV rights for the Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa League Conference between 2024 and 2027

Canal + struck a blow, Wednesday June 29, by winning the broadcasting rights for the entire Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa League Conference over the period 2024-2027. The information was announced in the evening by Maxime Saada, the chairman of the management board of the channel, via a message posted on his Twitter account.

“Very very happy for our subscribers and our teams and very proud to announce that Canal+ has just won the broadcasting of the entire Champions League, the Europa League and the Europa League Conference for 2024-2027”he posted.

In detail, Canal+ won all the lots put into play on Wednesday during the call for tenders organized by UEFA. The amount, on the other hand, did not filter.

For the Champions League, the “A1” lot concerns the best poster on Tuesday (17 matches in total) while the “A2” (24 matches) allows you to choose the best match on Wednesday but also on Thursday of the first day as well as than the final and the new inaugural tournament. Lot “B”, also acquired by Canal+, concerns all the other matches in the competition (166 in total).

Finally, the encrypted channel also won the tender for the broadcasting rights of C3 and C4.

As a reminder, from 2024, the Champions League will introduce its new format adopted last May. On the program: 36 qualifiers instead of 32 and above all more matches since each team will play eight matches (instead of six currently) during the group stage. The Europa League and Conference Europa League will also grow to 36 teams each.
