The Summer of the Canal, organized by Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme, offers you a fun, intelligent, festive and sporty summer, during the week and at weekends.
Canal summer is one of the unmissable events in Paris! River shuttles, water parks, free workshops, cruises, floating concerts, street art, sports activities, walks and visits will enliven the Canal de l’Ourcq, the Canal Saint-Denis and the northern loop of the Seine.
L’été du Canal offers you its 15th edition a new program that will delight young and old for unforgettable moments with family or friends.
Cast off !
Every weekend for the duration of the event, the Eté du Canal river shuttles offer different stops where you can take part in the activities and festivities offered on the banks. With a departure approximately every 40 minutes from Parc de la Villette, Pantin, Bobigny and Noisy/Bondy, enjoy a pleasant moment of navigation at the incredible price of €1 on Saturday and €2 on Sunday.
Other cruises with multiple themes offer you discover Paris differently through the history of its canals.
Cine-walk along the Canal de l’Ourcq
This waterfront promenade takes you in the footsteps of yesterday’s and today’s films filmed there: “Zazie in the metro”, “Ocean’s Eleven”, “Once upon a time in America”, “Les Bien-Aimés”, “Hôtel du Nord”, “Last Tango in Paris” or “Le Clan of the Sicilians”. Some decorations remain.
You will learn there the history of the cinema, the techniques, the trades, behind the scenes, anecdotes on the films and on Paris.
The ticket also includes rental of a deckchair and a blanket for the outdoor cinema session at Parc de la Villette.
The floating concerts
7 floating concerts, traveling on the water and accessible to all for free are programmed for the duration of the event: the boats are transformed into concert stages and the musicians deploy their art on the banks of the Canal de l’Ourcq in Paris and in Seine-Saint-Denis, making room for all aesthetics.

Walks along the canals
Take time to take a walk and rediscover the banks of the Saint-Denis canal. L’été du canal offers you a 4.5 km walk from the lock of La Villette (metro Jaurès) to the Place de la Pointe (metro Eglise de Pantin).
Lasting 2h30, this guided tour allows you togo back in time and (re)discover the vestiges of an industrial past in full conversion, more contemporary constructions, barges of all kinds and many works of street-art.
