The pair beat Russia’s Anna Blinkova and Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovih in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The identity of their opponents in the second round is not yet known, they await the result of the duel between the duo of Emina Bektas and Tara Moore and that of Belinda Bencic and Anhelina Kalinina.
