Like last year, the Habs invited 71 healthy players to their camp. The 72e is Carey Price, who will essentially fail her medical exam.
The 71 players are distributed as follows: 39 attackers, 23 defenders and 9 goalkeepers.
Four players are present by invitation, meaning they do not hold a contract and are not draft picks to which the organization holds the rights. They are attacker Isaac Dufort, defender Stanislav Demin and goalkeepers Jan Spunar and Joe Vrbetic. Dufort, Demin and Spunar participated in the rookie tournament in Buffalo and therefore see their invitation extended.
The camp begins this Wednesday with medical exams. The first on-ice sessions will take place Thursday in Brossard, and the players will be divided into four groups.
The traditional intra-team match between the Reds and Whites, at the Bell Center, will be held Sunday afternoon, on the eve of the first preparatory match, against the New Jersey Devils.
The team will also hold a three-day retreat in Mont-Tremblant, from October 5 to 7, before concluding its preparatory schedule on the evening of the 7th in Ottawa.
