When training camp opened, there was talk of a two-week absence for Nick Suzuki. The new captain of the Canadian is on the right track.

Suzuki was on the ice Monday morning in Brossard. He practiced with another injured defender Madison Bowey.
Suzuki is suffering from a lower body injury. According to the team, he was injured when he collided with defender Joel Edmundson, his new assistant, during practice before the official start of camp. Edmundson has suffered a back injury and hasn’t been seen on the ice so far.
In the absence of Suzuki, it is the young Filip Mesar, choice of 1er tour of CH this summer, which has acted as a center for Cole Caufield so far.
The Habs are playing their first preseason game under Charles III against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Center on Monday night.
