Canadian swimmer Kylie Masse won the bronze medal in the 200-meter backstroke on Friday at the Paris Olympics.
She stopped the clock at 2:05.57, beating American Phoebe Bacon by four hundredths of a second in the final meters.
It is Masse’s fifth career Olympic medal. The 28-year-old Ontarian became the first Canadian swimmer to medal at three consecutive Games.
Kylie Masse won bronze in the 100-meter backstroke at the Rio 2016 Games. She also won silver in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke at the Tokyo 2021 Games, in addition to a bronze medal in the 4 x 100-meter medley relay.
Canada also collected a fifth swimming medal at the Paris Games, after the three won by Summer McIntosh and that of Ilya Kharun.
Australia’s Kaylee McKeown won the gold medal in an Olympic record time of 2:03.73. American Regan Smith took the silver medal in 2:04.26.
