Canadian prospect Quentin Miller will move to the Rimouski Océanic in the coming days

After Vsevolod Komarov and Mikaël Huchette, the Remparts will lose another player who won the Memorial Cup with them last year. Goalie Quentin Miller will officially move to the Rimouski Océanic in the coming days.

Miller’s name had already been circulating extensively in transaction rumors for several weeks. The newspaper finally obtained confirmation that the final point of the transaction had been placed and that Miller will become a member of the Océanic on December 29. He was informed of this Monday evening.

Miller will have the opportunity to play one last match in front of his fans, at the Videotron center, on December 28, against the Sherbrooke Phoenix.

The bank of choice is replenished

According to what has been learned, the Remparts will notably get their hands on the first and second round picks of the Océanic in 2025, as well as on a player who will be confirmed later. The Remparts therefore continue to replenish their bank of choices and, in addition to speaking twice in each of the first five rounds of the next draft, they now have two first round choices and three second ones for the 2025 draft.

Remember that they also got their hands on a first round pick in 2024 and another second in 2025 in return for Komarov, as well as second round selections in 2024 and third in 2025 in return for Huchette.

A fourth-round pick by the Montreal Canadiens last summer, Miller is in his first season as a starter in the QMJHL. In 26 games this season, he had an 11-13-1 record, a 3.05 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage.

In the Océanic camp, this transaction is intended to be another step in their preparation for the presentation of the Memorial Cup tournament in 2025.

Furthermore, contrary to some rumors that have circulated, Miller has not asked to be traded.
