Canadian federal MPs are the second highest paid in the world, reveals the National Post based on data from the site politicalsalaries.com.

As of 1er April, members of the Canadian parliament will receive an annual base salary of $203,100, thanks to a 4.4% increase in their current annual remuneration of $194,600.
Apart from the United States, no country pays its elected officials more. Members of the United States Congress are paid $236,400 (Canadian).
Israel comes in third place with a salary of $200,700, just below that of Canadian MPs.
The ministers of the Trudeau government and the leader of the opposition, Pierre Poilievre, for their part, will receive from 1er April salary of $299,900.

Justin Trudeau compared to other world leaders
The Prime Minister of Canada will see his salary increase to $406,200 as of Monday. In this chapter, he is the 6e highest paid head of government on the planet.
The Prime Minister of Singapore is the highest paid, followed by the Swiss President and the American President.

Justin Trudeau’s salary, however, represents only a fraction of that of some Canadian business leaders.
Thus, the president and CEO of Bell receives compensation of $13.4 million, or 33 times that of the Prime Minister of Canada.
For the big boss of the Royal Bank of Canada, the salary of $15.2 million represents 37 times that of Mr. Trudeau.
Finally, the CEO of Suncor (Petro-Canada) receives $36.8 million per year, or 90 times Justin Trudeau’s salary.
