(Winnipeg) Zach Collaros set a career high with six touchdown passes on Friday, guiding the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a 55-27 victory over the Edmonton Elks.
Collaros had 432 air yards, seven shy of his career high.
Undefeated in seven games, the Bombers earned a spot in the playoffs for the eighth straight season.
The Manitoba clan’s first three drives resulted in catches from Nic Demski, Keric Wheatfall and Brady Oliveira for touchdowns.
Their fourth possession was capped by a Sergio Castillo field goal.
Demski caught touchdown passes of 40 and 11 yards.
TyJuan Garbutt grabbed a fumbled ball from Edmonton and raced 62 yards to the end zone.
Winnipeg improved its performance to 9-6 in front of 32,243 fans, the third full house in a row at Princess Auto Stadium.
The Blue Bombers led 17-0 after one quarter and 34-6 at the half.
Eugene Lewis, Tevin Jones and Dillon Mitchell caught touchdown passes for the Elks, who are 5-10.
The Bombers will be in Hamilton next Friday. The Elks will host the Roughriders the next day.
