The incidents took place Friday during the Roughriders’ 28-13 win over the Ottawa Redblacks. Suspensions are the most severe disciplinary measures ever imposed by the CFL for behavior on the field.

Marino received a two-game suspension for a dangerous and reckless low kick to Redblacks quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. This gesture resulted in a serious injury and Marino’s expulsion from the match, also due to his subsequent celebration.
Marino received a one-game suspension for verbal comments made during the game about Masoli’s legacy, which violates the CFL’s Code of Conduct. And he received another one-game suspension for his illegal and reckless tackle against a Rouge et Noir offensive lineman in a previous game.
The CFL also cited Marino’s disciplinary history after just 12 CFL games, which includes another ejection and two fines.
