Canadian end-of-season report | Paul Byron ponders his future

Paul Byron is “not ready” to make a decision on his future, but his tone leaves no ambiguity.

The first player to speak on the Habs’ end-of-season report, the 33-year-old forward, who missed the entire season and most of the previous one due to recurring hip injuries, said he hoped “still play”, but that, realistically, the prospects are not exciting.

His contract will expire on 1er next July, after which he will be an unrestricted free agent. He leaves himself “a few weeks” to think about his future. No one would be surprised if he announces his retirement.

In 383 games with the Habs, he scored 81 goals and added 79 assists, for 160 points.

More details will follow.
