Wilfried Nancy’s men begin their journey in the second round thanks to their coronation last year. They defeated Toronto FC 1-0 in the final.

The Hamilton club earned their second-round bye with a 2-0 win over CS Mont-Royal Outremont. Terran Campbell and Woobens Pacius rattled the ropes against the Quebec Premier Soccer League club.

David Choinière, former Bleu-blanc-noir and brother of Mathieu – who plays with the CFM – collected an assist on the second goal.

The victory of the Canadian Championship in 2021 by the Montreal XI allowed him to re-enter the Concacaf Champions League. Forge FC also took part in the Concacaf Club Tournament in 2022.

The Canadian Premier League (PLC) team lost in the first round by a score of 4-1 against future CF Montreal scorers, Cruz Azul.

PLC powerhouse Forge FC finished first in the 2021 regular season before losing in the playoff final. However, he was crowned champion in 2020.
