That’s what Canada Soccer’s draw on Tuesday established. The preliminary round games, including that of CF Montreal, will take place on April 18, 19 or 20. The Belle Province team will be looking for a sixth title in this competition.
The Vaughan SC, which is defending champion of the L1O, will be participating in this tournament for the second time to obtain the Coupe des Voyageurs.
FC Laval, champion of the First Quebec Soccer League, will participate for the first time, as will TSS Rovers FC (League1 British Columbia) and Vancouver FC (Canadian Premier League).
Of the 14 participating teams, only Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC – last year’s champions and runners-up respectively – are bye bye to the first round. The Toronto team will also wait for the result of the match involving its Montreal rivals to know the identity of its opponents in the quarter-finals.
