Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price skated at the Brossard Sports Complex on Wednesday, while teammate Jake Allen is very close to returning to play.

In the case of Price, his presence on the ice for several minutes is good news and we cannot rule out a return to play by the end of the regular season, even if nothing is certain. The number 31 had knee surgery last summer and is yet to play in 2021-22.
As for Allen, Sportsnet reported he could return to action as early as Thursday when the Habs host the Dallas Stars. However, head coach Martin St-Louis mentioned after the optional session that he was 95% sure that Allen would play the next game. Sidelined since Jan. 12 with a lower-body injury, the veteran has taken several shots on the ice over the past few days. Moreover, his name has circulated in some transaction rumors; the National League trade deadline is Monday.
The Canadiens must play twice before the March 21 deadline.
