(Toronto) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared on an episode of the show Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World Friday in order to motivate the participants.
Mr. Trudeau was introduced as the first world leader to visit a set in the series launched by RuPaul.
During the episode, the Prime Minister shared his thoughts on Canada’s efforts to promote diversity, noting that there is still a lot of work to be done, however.
After his speech, the drag queens were visibly touched by his remarks.
Competitor Stephanie Prince had tears in her eyes, and she said Trudeau’s work on immigration had made it easier for her to come to Canada in hopes of finding a better life here.
Guest judges for the episode included the winner of Canada’s Drag Race Priyanka and activist Sarain Fox, who joined permanent judge Traci Melchor.
Host Brooke Lynn Hytes thanked Trudeau for supporting the LGBTQ+ community and participating in the Pride Parade.
“Can we move beyond ‘tolerating’ and start embracing, loving, accepting and learning? This is how you build a resilient society,” said Mr. Trudeau.
“That’s what we’re trying to do in Canada, and we still have a lot of work to do. »
