Canada wins 4-2 over the United States at the Rivalry Series

The Canadians scored three unanswered goals in the third period to come from behind and defeat the Americans 4-2 on Wednesday in the Rivalry Series.

Canada thus preserved its chances of winning this series of seven games. Her rivals have nevertheless won three of the five games so far.

Ashton Bell tied the game 11:29 into the third period. Less than three minutes later, Renata Fast scored the winning goal.

Brianne Jenner and Laura Stacey also hit the target for Canada. Marie-Philip Poulin collected two assists and goalkeeper Ann-Renée Desbiens made 14 saves.

Grace Zumwinkle and Gabbie Hughes both gave the Americans the lead. Nicole Hensley stopped 24 of the 27 shots she faced.

The next game is Friday in Regina, with the series ending two days later in St. Paul, Minnesota.
