Canada | Inflation is rising again

The inflation rate started to rise again in December, to 3.4%, after showing 3.1% in November. For all of 2023, inflation was 3.9% in 2023, the second highest level since 1991.

The increase is explained by an increase in the price of gasoline from one year to the next, Statistics Canada reported. The increase in airfares and fuel oil prices also contributed to the increase in the Consumer Price Index.
