The Minister of Education, Gabriel Attal, announced that he wanted to remove from schools students reported for acts of radicalization. How to apply such a measure?

The assailant of the knife attack in Arras (Pas-de-Calais) was a radicalized student who ended up taking action. When he was a student at this high school, his behavior worried the teachers several times. Two reports were made to National Education. But the teaching team never got any feedback. “Faced with these reports, many colleagues are wondering: what protection is guaranteed to them?”explains Julia Duhamel, UNSA Arras representative.

“I will take all exclusion measures that are necessary, as long as it protects national education personnel”, announced the Minister of Education, Gabriel Attal. But among teaching unions, the announcement raises many questions. How do we define a radicalized student? Today, according to the Minister of Education, there are several dozen potentially radicalized minors in France.
