While resignations within his government have been piling up since Tuesday July 5, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is clinging to his post. But his future is in jeopardy.
Boris Johnson is currently in turmoil. The British Prime Minister “has overcome many crises since the beginning of his mandate, in 2019. This is moreover his trademark. But it is very difficult to know how he could get out of it this time”says Matthieu Boisseau, correspondent in London (United Kingdom), Wednesday, July 6.
“It is in total, since yesterday (tuesday)about forty members of his government who resigned one after the other”says the journalist. “There are among them simple advisers, assistants, but also leading ministers”he continues. “The Conservatives criticize the Prime Minister for his lack of seriousness, poor election results for several months, repeated scandals (…) and, more recently, the appointment to a key position of a deputy who was nevertheless accused of sexual assault”explains Matthieu Boisseau.
