Two months after leaving his post as British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is in the headlines on Friday, October 21. He is even designated as the favorite to succeed his own replacement at 10 Downing Street. The former prime minister was ousted from his own party after multiple scandals. According to those close to him, he would be ready to participate in an express primary within the Conservative Party.
His potential opponents for the primary are Rishi Sunak, his former finance minister, and Penny Mordaunt, a charismatic elected official. She declared her candidacy. All three try to win the support of Conservative MPs, when the British are tired. “I have the impression that the country is just lost, it’s terrible”, says a woman. Since Brexit was announced, the UK has had four Conservative Prime Ministers in six years. The country has never experienced such political instability. Divided, the conservatives cannot agree on their leaders or on their ideas.
