It’s finally the big day! After months of waiting and a postponement due to demonstrations against pension reform, King Charles III and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles arrived this Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Paris. Indeed, the royal couple landed in the early afternoon, around 2 p.m., for a state visit which will last three days.
For the occasion, the British queen as well as the father of Prince William was welcomed by Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, present on the tarmac of Orly airport to greet the couple first.
A notable descent from the plane given that Queen Camila Parker Bowles, who was wearing a long, puffy pink dress, was surprised by the wind. As she walked down the stairs with one hand on the railing, her other hand tried, with difficulty, sometimes to hold her hat so that it wouldn’t fly away, sometimes to hold her dress in place so that it wouldn’t ride up too much…

Another hiccup…
In addition to this first hiccup linked to the wind, the monarchs did not take long to experience a second disappointment. While they were attending a military ceremony under the Arc de Triomphe and the two anthems of France and England were being played by the Republican Guard, the “Marseillaise” was cut off by the planes of the French patrol who flew over the most beautiful avenue in the world just before the last note of Rouge de Lisle’s composition was played…
A little miss that the journalists of BFM TV, who followed the event very closely, highlighted live.
