Not enough to disturb Camilla Parker Bowles so far. Following her marriage to Prince Charles, celebrated in 2005, the Duchess of Cornwall gradually became a leading figure in the royal family, appreciated for her discretion and her commitment to many causes. Her notoriety is such that last February, when Queen Elizabeth announced her desire to become queen consort after her disappearance, very few objections were heard across the Channel.
As for the highly anticipated fifth season of The Crownshot last spring, we will have to wait until November 2022 to discover it on Netflix. The series continues to go back in time and the history of the royal family, now focusing on the tumultuous 1990s, which notably saw Charles and Diana’s marriage fall apart.
Many changes are to be expected on the casting side, to transcribe the passing years: Elizabeth Debicki has slipped into the skin of Lady Di, while Imelda Staunton takes over the role of Queen Elizabeth after Olivia Colman. Prince Charles will be played by Dominic West, who replaces Josh O’Connor. The maligned Prince Andrew finally has a choice interpreter in the person of James Murray. For her part, Princess Margaret will no longer have the face of Helena Bonham Carter, but that of Lesley Manville.
