A difficult back to school. While students are due to return to class on Thursday September 1, the Minister of National Education, Pap Ndiaye, acknowledged on Friday August 26, “a context of unprecedented tension for the recruitment of teachers”. To cope with this shortage of teachers, National Education had to hire some 3,000 contract workers, trained in a few days. Additional staff to add to the tens of thousands of non-tenured professors who have been practicing in France in recent years.
