Florida Panthers interim coach Andrew Brunette and Gerard Gallant of the New York Rangers were the other finalists.
The New York club is currently in the final of the East.
Brunette finished second in the vote by members of the NHL Radio and Television Broadcasters Association.
Sutter, 63, led the Flames to a divisional championship and the sixth-most points in the league.
Calgary reached the second round of the playoffs before losing to their Alberta rivals, the Edmonton Oilers.
The Oilers are in the Western Final against the Colorado Avalanche.
It’s a first Jack Adams for Sutter, who is in his 20s.e campaign at the helm of a National League club.
He was the Kings coach when Los Angeles won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014.
