(Calgary) The Calgary Flames signed forward Andrew Basha to a three-year entry-level contract on Sunday.
Basha will pocket an average of US$897,500 per year.
Basha had 30 goals and 55 assists in 63 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL last season. The 18-year-old forward added five points in five playoff games.
Basha was selected in the second round, at 41e rank, by the Flames during the last NHL draft.
In two preparatory games with the Flames, he obtained an assist before returning to junior with the Tigers.
