University of South Carolina (USC) Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams is the recipient of the Heisman Trophy for the 2022 season.

The prestigious distinction is awarded annually to the most outstanding player of the NCAA, the American university circuit.
Williams received 544 first-place votes, edging out quarterbacks Max Duggan (TCU), CJ Stroud (Ohio State) and Stetson Bennett (Georgia).
This year, the USC center has amassed 4,075 yards and 37 touchdowns with his arm. He only had four interceptions. His team went 11-2.
Williams is the first Trojans quarterback to win the Heisman since Matt Leinart in 2004 and is the eighth athlete from this university to earn the honor.
