Calcined body in Beauce: the identity of the victim has been revealed

The body found charred in a van, Sunday, in Beauce, is that of Karine Bélanger, a woman who could have been murdered by a friend before the fire of the vehicle.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) revealed the identity of the 36-year-old young woman, originally from Quebec, a little less than a week after the discovery of her charred body in a burned and stolen van in Beauce.

The body had been sent to the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine in Montreal to be able to identify it, in particular thanks to a dental expertise. An autopsy was also performed, but the exact circumstances of his death were not disclosed.

According to several sources familiar with the matter, it could likely be a case of femicide in a marital context. Remember that the vehicle in which his body was found was abandoned in a cornfield along rang Saint-Pierre, in Saint-Bernard.
