Cadillac | The Optiq will be eligible for full subsidies

The most affordable electric model in the Cadillac range will ultimately be eligible for both federal and provincial subsidies. The Optiq, a compact crossover, thus seeks to broaden the audience of the American brand with a recipe largely inspired by the Chevrolet Equinox EV, from which it derives.

The starting price, set at $59,999 for the Luxury 1 and Sport 1 versions, respects to the nearest dollar the limit set by the federal government to benefit from a rebate of $5,000 after taxes. The Quebec government, for its part, sets this ceiling at $65,000 to subtract $7,000 from the bill, also after the addition of taxes. However, you will have to act quickly, because this discount will drop to $4,000 on the 1st^er next January.

In exchange for this sum, the buyer is offered a vehicle whose size of 4.8 m long places it between a compact and intermediate SUV. Only one mechanical combination is offered, namely two motors producing 300 hp in total, combined with an 85 kWh battery compatible with a maximum recharging power of 150 kW.

The range estimated by Cadillac is 482 km, which places it very close to the Lyriq, its much more expensive big brother.

Production of the Cadillac Optiq will begin at the end of the year. The brand tells us that order books are open at dealerships.
