Cadillac announces the fearsome 2023 Escalade-V

The rumor had been circulating for a few months already. Today, Cadillac officially announces the arrival of a more powerful and more luxurious Escalade which will be part of its famous V series.

It’s obviously the first SUV in Cadillac’s history to sport the emblem of the V models, which raise the performance standards within the range.

Unfortunately, the company is only releasing a few images, which also show a pre-production copy. The final result as well as the full specifications of the vehicle will be revealed this spring.

However, we can see that the Escalade-V stands out a lot from the other versions by the treatment of its front end, including the grille, the side openings, the bottom of the bumper and the spoiler added below.

Elsewhere, of course, we notice the crest on the front doors, the various black finish trims and the four tailpipes in the back. The wheels, which are arguably larger in diameter than on other Escalades, have a distinctive design. They’re shod in high-performance Bridgestone tires and slowed by Brembo brakes with red-painted calipers.

The only image of the interior presents us with the emblem of the V models on the steering wheel.

By the way, what engine is hiding under the hood? It could be the same monstrous 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque in the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The difference will be a 10-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive, as on the current 420-horsepower Escalade.

We’ll find out in the spring, so keep following The Car Guide so as not to miss anything!
