Cabourg and its meridian of love

This is Marcel Proustunder the name of Balbec, in his novel “In Search of Lost Time” which brings Cabourg and its Grand Hotel in French literature. Two months in the year he stayed there in room 414 on the 4th floor. A promenade bears his name there. Along the way, panels with some literary excerpts on them. But it is especially on the Meridian of Love that we are going to linger!

A unique work in the world, made up of 104 nails from the Paris Mint anchored in the cobblestones of the dike and 5 columns, one for each continent, on which the word “love” is available in the 104 official languages states of the world. A stone’s throw from Greenwich, Le Méridien de l’Amour was inaugurated on June 8, 2016on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Cabourg Film Festival, to celebrate dialogue between peoples, peace, solidarity and fraternity.
