It’s never too early to prepare for the next season. It is this maxim that CA Brive has applied to follow, announcing this Friday the arrival of an Irish center for next season, Sammy Arnold.
Tested by the departure of Rico Buliruarua for La Rochelle, Brive seemed a little lonely in the center. This new recruit can, it is true, bring experience to the group of three-quarters. Sammy Arnold is, indeed, a senior Connacht player, playing both center and wing. He played 67 matches in the United Rugby Championship, a championship bringing together Welsh, Scottish and Irish teams. He also has Champions Cup experience with 8 matches played.
Former comrade of Stuart Olding
His arrival will be all the more facilitated since he already knows one of the players from Brive. He played with Stuart Olding with Ulster. He is also an Irish international, and has played with his country’s U18 and U20 teams. At only 25 years old, his profile appealed to the other Irishman, the coach Jérémy Davidson. “Sam Arnold is a versatile young three-quarterback with a very high level of technical background. He is also very aggressive in attack and defense.”
“At the gates of the Irish team for several years, he will be involved in the Briviste project for three years.” – Jérémy Davidson
For Sammy Arnold, it will be a complete change, since he will discover the French Top 14 championship with Brive.
