If the government is looking for consensus, there is a subject on which it can hope to find one at the moment: that of the sanitary field, while the bill on the Covid-19 will arrive at the National Assembly Tuesday, July 5.
>> Covid-19: what measures can the government impose in the face of the seventh wave (and until when)?
No question of making the mask compulsory or even of imposing any restriction, even if the epidemic indicators turn red one after the other. The circulation of Covid-19 thus intensified at the end of June 2022, as well as hospitalizations, in particular for the oldest who remain far too many not to have their second reminder, according to the health authorities. Concretely, in one week – from June 20 to 26 – the incidence rate increased by 53%, according to the latest bulletin from the health agency. Friday July 1, the number of contaminations amounted to 125,066 cases detected in 24 hours.
Yet the executive’s course of action is, for the moment, very calm, not very alarmist. And that’s good: this is what the National Rally, for example, but also the Insoumis defends. “The slightest thing that you will impose, it will not passwarns the rebellious MP and caregiver Caroline Fiat. We must put health prevention back at the heart of the debates among the French.
Once is not custom, the majority says exactly the same thing: “What is needed is not to annoy the French. We must inform the population”assures the MoDem deputy and doctor Cyrille Isaac-Sibille. “We have to give recommendations and then everyone has to feel responsible. We have to empower”he hammers.
Moreover, the government text presented next week to deputies will only have two articles, one on monitoring the epidemic, the other on the possibility of reintroducing health checks at the borders. The health pass in France is not an option. As if, despite the 120,000 cases detected every day, the entire political class had decided to put the health crisis behind it.
