“But who invented the 6th?” by Paul Beaupere

The book I’m talking about today is very funny and above all, it allows you to de-dramatize entering 6th grade for many children. It’s called “But who invented the 6th?”, it’s signed Paul Beaupère and published by Fleurus.

One day when he came home from the square where he was skateboarding with friends, Lucas finds his parents hysterical and overjoyed, laughing out loud, drinking champagne, in short, it was a party. Why ? After wondering if they had won the lottery, or the dachshund grooming world cup (because in his family, we are totally crazy about dachshunds, which they call “sausage dogs”), Lucas wonders what ‘she’s good news makes her parents happy…until they tell her thathe is taken to college

Without spoiler the end of the story, I can tell you that the adventures will follow for the young Lucas, and that in the end, everyone will be reassured! More seriously, this very nice and funny story makes it possible to approach college without too much pressure and stress, parents can rely on Lucas’ story to reassure their future college students.

The story is punctuated with very funny little expressions: “I’m sweating like a penguin visiting Dubai” or “It’s something to scare a mummy.

Paul Beaupere is a great children’s author. We owe him, among other things, “The Potofeu family” or “The club of piano thieves”
