The Montreal-based management IT consulting firm Createch is bought by the French group Talan from the Canadian telecommunications giant BCE (Bell), which had owned Createch since 2005 as a small specialized services subsidiary.

Createch employs 275 people in its three business offices in Montreal, Quebec City and Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto. Its turnover is around 60 million per year, according to the summary information available on its website.

For the Talan group, this is the fourth growth acquisition in Canada in two years. Moreover, Talan intends to make Createch in Montreal its new business headquarters in Canada, by integrating the activities of its three other acquisitions made since 2019.

Following this transaction, whose amount agreed with BCE is not disclosed, Talan anticipates that its activities in Canada will pass the milestone of 120 million in turnover, with a workforce of 650 employees.

As for the impact of the acquisition of Createch on all of its future international results, the management of Talan indicates in a press release that it will contribute to the growth of its turnover beyond 600 million euros (approximately CAN 858 million) in 2022.

At this rate, Talan’s medium-term business plan “aims to exceed the €1 billion mark” (about C$1.4 billion) within two years.

In the opinion of the chairman of Talan, Mehdi Houas, “this project (purchase of Createch) is part of our “Ambition 2024” plan in which we foresee 10,000 employees within the group, including more than 3,000 in North America. in order to meet the growing needs in innovation and digital transformation of large groups and public players. »

For her part, the president of Createch since December 2019, Hélène Kyriakakis, underlines that “this merger (with the Talan group) allows us to increase our strike force on the North American market, thanks to the complementarity of our expertise. »
