For her campaign, the RN candidate has decided to innovate by offering herself the services of around fifteen buses painted in the colors of her project. But this practice could be against the rules of the presidential campaign.
This is the marketing innovation of the Rassemblement national campaign in 2022: for the past few weeks, around fifteen buses bearing the image of Marine Le Pen criss-cross the roads of France. The device could contravene campaign finance rules, as it is considered a wild posting. “The first risk is not being reimbursed for all the costs”reports master Louis le Foyer de Costil, lawyer specializing in electoral law.
The operation had already been attempted by the National Rally during the last regional elections. The National Commission for Campaign Accounts had refused to reimburse the flocking costs, estimated at 15,000 euros. The decision is now contested by the party. Beyond the financial risk, the communication operation could be used as an argument in the event of contestation of the result of the election.
