One of the buses allegedly braked hard and the vehicle following it collided with it.
Nearly 90 children and their monitors had to be transported to hospital as a preventive measure.
The accident would not have resulted in serious injuries, but certainly caused quite a scare for many families.
“Note that the accident involving school buses dedicated to transport for day camp outings does not concern the Boisbriand day camps,” the municipality said on its Facebook page.

Code orange in the hospital
“As a precaution, the paramedics transported all the children to the Saint-Eustache Hospital to be examined. This is why we have triggered a “code orange”, explained by email the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of the Laurentians.
Support is provided by the CISSS des Laurentides psychosocial team, including social workers, to care for children in the hospital.
“A space in the cafeteria welcomes the children after their assessment until their departure. We already have almost half of the children who have been assessed and referred there. All children should return to their point of origin, by bus, by the end of the day,” the organization added.
